Pictures of Hawaii
The famous holiday destination of Hawaii is unique in many respects. It is was the last state to be incorporated into the US and is the only state that is made up completely of islands. Its location in the Pacific Ocean southwest from the rest of the US results in a climate and landscape unlike any other state. The states tallest mountain Mauna Kea is 4,205 metres tall; however, as the mountains base is deep in the Pacific Ocean, its length is actually greater than that of Mount Everest. It is also the only US state that does not have a single straight line within its state boundary and a person born there has a higher life expectancy than someone does from any other state.

Its beauty and its tropical climate have lead to its primary industry and primarily claim to fame being tourism. During its lazy summers, daytime temperatures average at about 31 degrees, whereas during winter the average is about 28 degrees. This makes the island perfect for lazing on the beach regardless of the time of year that you visit. There is however far more to see in Hawaii than its beaches. Each island in the state is the result of volcanic activity many years ago and as such, spectacular volcanic landscapes are present in numerous locations. The islands are also home to extremely varied wildlife including many endangered species. The capital city of Honolulu also caters to tourists need by providing a varied and lively nightlife.
